10. Penalty for contravention of provisions by an appointing authority.
- If an appointing authority contravenes any provision of this Act, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to five years, or with fine of two thousand and five hundred rupees, or with both:Provided that nothing contained in this section shall apply in relation to an appointment to any service or post of which the appointing authority is the Governor.
