Section 24(1) in The U.P. Harcourt Butler Technical University Act, 2016
(1)Each Department/Centre/Unit of the University shall be placed in charge of a Head who shall be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from among the Professors and in absence of Professors from amongst the Associate Professors, as applicable of such university department/centre/unit.
