1) The instant application has been framed as a Public Interest Litigation seeking modification of the categorization of the distance norms issued by the School Shiksha Avam Surakshha Yojna, Government of Jharkhand.

2) According to the petitioner, if the distance norms is given effect to, primary school students will have to walk beyond 1 k.m., which is beyond the stipulated norms.

3) In our view, the matter in substance falls within the executive domain and we request the State Government to look into the grievances urged by the writ petitioner in this proceeding and take a decision in that regard having regard to the subsisting norms.

4) With these observations, we dispose of the writ application.
