FACTS
Heard today dated 15.2.2012. Appellant not present. DoT is represented by Shri Dipankar Mahto, Jt. CCA.
2. The matter, in short, is that the appellant had sought information on 05 paras about one Dhirendra Nath Biswas viz. whether said Biswas was working in Telecommunication Factory, Alipore. If yes, his date of joining; his date of birth and his date of superannuation. Besides, the appellant had also wanted to know his PPO number and the place where he got his pension from. Vide letter dated 18th March, 2011, the CPIO had blandly refused to disclose this information u/s 8 (1) (j).
3. The Commission can not approve of the CPIO's decision. Information on first three paras is wholly disclosable to the appellant. However, information regarding PPO number and the place from where said Biswas is getting his pension need not be disclosed.
4. The CPIO will implement this order in 03 weeks time Sd/-
