Section 57(1) in The Burdwan University Act, 1981.
(1)The Vice-Chancellor holding office at the date of publication of this Act in the Official Gazette shall be the first Vice-Chancellor of the University and shall be deemed to have been appointed under this Act and shall hold office for a period of two years from the date of publication of this Act in the Official Gazette or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.
