(2)On the resignation being accepted -(a)by the Municipality, in the case of an elected Councillor; and(b)by the State Government, in the case of a nominated Councillor, the Councillor shall cease to hold office with effect from the succeeding date of such acceptance :Provided that the Councillor may, at any time before the acceptance of the resignation, withdraw the same by writing under his hand.] [Substituted vide Orissa Act No. 11 of 1994 w.e.f. 31.5.1994.]
