An Act further to amend the Ahmedabad City Courts Act, 1961 for certain purposes.It is hereby enacted in the Fourteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-* [Received the assent of the President on 13th November, 1963 and published in the Gujarat Government Gazette on the 15th November 1963]

1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Ahmedabad City Courts (Amendment) Act, 1963.

2. Amendment of section 14 of Guj. XIX of 1961.- In section 14 of the Ahmedabad City Courts Act, 1961 (Guj. XIX of 1961), after sub-section (3), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:-

"(3A) A Magistrate other than the Chief Magistrate appointed under this section, if specially empowered by the State Government shall, for the purposes of the Criminal Procedure Code, be an Executive Magistrate for the City of Ahmedabad and shall exercise the powers of an Executive Magistrate with which he may be invested by the State Government under the Criminal Procedure Code.".
