Section 18(1) in Assam Co-Operative Societies Act, 2007
(1)Any person who needs the services of a cooperative society and expresses his willingness to accept the responsibilities of membership, meets such other conditions as may be specified in the bye-laws of the cooperative society and is in a position to use the services of the cooperative society, may seek membership and if the cooperative society is in a position to extend its services to the applicant, it may admit him as a member.
