5. Encroachments It had earlier been mentioned that there were encroachments on RamgarhTaal and other wetlands. Hon'ble NGT had formed a high power Joint Committee on 27.09.2019 comprising of Principal Secretaries/Secretaries of Irrigation, Urban Development, Environment and Forest, Flood control, UPPCB and CPCB. Despite repeated directions regarding Ramgarhlake, so far the notification of wetland has not been published, based on which encroachments could be identified. It was mentioned that the final notification has been approved by the State Wetland Committee and is likely to be published shortly. Chief Secretary, UP shall ensure that the notification of Ramgarh wetland is published and encroachments, if any, on wetland area be identified and removed expeditiously.
