So in this case it is clear that everything was discussed and disclosed before the patient. The main argument put forward is regarding the amount of liposuction. The complainant's counsel  argued that only 5 Ltr of liposuction can be done in one sitting. First we shall discuss about the liposuction, it procedure et cetera.

Overview Liposuction is a type of surgery. It uses suction to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction also shapes these areas. That process is called contouring. Other names for liposuction include lipoplasty and body contouring.

How Much Fat Can Be Removed During Liposuction?
When it comes to removing stubborn fat from various areas of the body, liposuction stands front and center because of its remarkable results. By physically eliminating unwanted fat cells, liposuction offers a permanent fat-loss solution for the treated areas. But before you go through this effective fat reduction procedure, it's natural to wonder how much fat you can get removed during liposuction.
The amount of fat that you can lose through liposuction mainly depends upon your body mass index (BMI), treatment area, and overall goals. That said, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) suggests 5 liters as the maximum amount of fat that can be removed in a single procedure, but your plastic surgeon will make a personalized decision at the time of your consultation. Some high-volume liposuction techniques can also remove larger amounts of fat while ensuring patient safety. This post will outline what you need to know about liposuction safety guidelines.
We have also called report from the plastic surgery department of KGMC which is scanned hereinbelow. It is clear that the patient was alcoholic and also a smoker. In the report of plastic surgery department of KGMC, it has been clearly mentioned that depending upon the amount of fat removed, the procedure may be classified as :
larger volume liposuction >5 L Mega volume liposuction  8 to 12 L, and Gigantic volume liposuction   < 12L It has also been mentioned that with any surgical procedure risks are always existed, which are higher with large volume liposuction. Complications of liposuction include mild complications like bruising, numbness, pain and contour  changes. Here in this case it is not a gigantic volume liposuction but it comes in mega volume liposuction because it is about 10% of the body weight of the patient. It is also disclosed that the patient has problem in moving and walking. Liposuction is not the ultimate cure to reduce the fat but today the people run before this process though it can be controlled by diet.
The complainant's version that the patient and the complainant never gave consent to the opposite parties to perform major liposuction surgery, is not correct because there is consent of liposuction and this liposuction is neither mega volume liposuction nor gigantic volume liposuction. No doctor take risk to operate a person in case his parameters are not sufficient to be operated on. The opposite parties no.1 to 4 has stated that when everything was under control then they proceeded for liposuction. Everything was normal after liposuction but later on the condition deteriorated. They promptly shifted the patient to the opposite party no.5 Sahara Hospital. Therefore, it cannot be said that the opposite parties no.1 to 4 are negligent in this respect.
