This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to grant permission and necessary police protection to perform the cultural programme (ie.,) Adal Padal Dance Programme on 01.07.2018 at 07.00 pm., to 11.00 pm., in the festival of Arulmighu Sri MayandiSannasi Thirukovil at Kallur, Thirumayam Taluk, Pudukkottai District.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3.Though the larger relief is sought for in this writ petition, the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner is now restricting his prayer by stating that it would suffice that if a direction is issued to the respondent only to grant permission to conduct the ?Adal Padal Dance programme.

4.Taking into consideration the facts of the present case and the fact that such programmes are being organized and conducted in every village all over the state, preventing the petitioner from conducting such programme in this particular village will amount to discrimination.
