In view of the above, this Court opines that mere pendency of criminal cases is not a ground to refuse re-issuance/renewal of passport which was earlier issued to the petitioner for a period ten years from 09.06. 2016 to 08.06.2026 which was however lost by the petitioner. Further, the petitioner is ready to co-operate with the trial Court in concluding trial. Therefore, the petitioner herein sought release of passport by issuing necessary directions to respondents for consideration of the present application filed by the petitioner dated 04.03.2024 seeking reissuance of petitioner's passport No. P 3035978 for a period of ten (10) years without reference to criminal cases registered and pending against the petitioner.
