The expression "any order" passed by the authority under the specified Act expanded the horizon, jurisdiction and the competence of the Tribunal to deal with any cases concerning any order passed by the Authority under the specified Act. The authority has been defined under Section 2(b) of the Act of 1997 to mean an Officer, an authority or functionary exercising powers or discharging the functions as such under the specified Act. The District Judge or Additional District Judge though classified as a Tribunal under Section 55(2) of the Act of 1953 but is an authority or functionary exercising powers emanating from the specified Act i.e. West Bengal Estate Acquisition Act, 1955. Even if the word 'Tribunal' is used under Section 55(2) of the Act of 1953 yet the District Judge or the Additional District Judge acts in such capacity and passes the order conferred upon it under the specified Act.
