SHRI P.R. SUNDARAM (NAMAKKAL):  Madam Speaker, the common man is facing serious problems because of the truck strike in Tamil Nadu which has entered the seventh day and is causing a loss of Rs.1000 crore to Tamil Nadu and millions of crores of loss to Government of India.

The Western Districts of Tamil Nadu are badly affected as hundreds of lorry drivers have been forced to go without work and live without their daily wages and jobs. In my Constituency Namakkal, three crore eggs are produced and supplied all over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. More than five crore eggs were lying stagnant due to the current lorry strike. The lorry association had said that the strike was unavoidable because the fuel price hike has happened and the Central Government is not fulfilling their long-pending demands.

HON. SPEAKER: Kunwar Pushpendra Singh Chandel, Shri Rabindra Kumar Jena, Shri Bhairon Prasad Mishra, Shri K. Ashok Kumar, Shri G. Hari and Shrimati K. Maragatham are permitted to associate with the issue raised by Shri P.R. Sundaram.

भाषण नहीं करना है। सलीम जी, मैंने आपको एक ही वाक्य के लिए अलाऊ किया है।

 SHRI MOHAMMAD SALIM (RAIGANJ): Hon. Speaker Madam, a very pertinent issue is raised.
