The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the 2nd respondent to order conferment of permanent status to the writ petitioners as directed by the 1st respondent in his proceedings dated 16.11.2009.
2.The petitioners state that they were working as Contract Labourers in the respondent Electricity Board for several years. The petitioners claim that they had completed 480 days of service within a continuous period of service. The petitioners, based on the services http://www.judis.nic.in rendered by them as Contract Labourers, filed a petition before the Inspector of Labour, Thiruvannamalai, under the Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981, and the Inspector of Labour passed an order on 16.11.2009, granting the benefit of permanent status in favour of the writ petitioners. In this regard, the petitioners have also submitted their representations to the respondents to implement the orders of the Inspector of Labour by granting permanent status on par with other similarly placed persons. However, the said order dated 16.11.2009, has not been implemented by the 2nd respondent. Thus, the petitioners are constrained to move the present writ petition for a direction to implement the orders of the Inspector of Labour, Thiruvannamalai.
