The writ petition has been filed seeking for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to grant permission to conduct traditional dance program from 01.07.2014 to 07.07.2014 from 9.00 p.m. to 12.00 p.m. in pursuance of the Aani Festival of the Arulmighu Sri Pidariamman, Sri Muthallamman Temple situated at Kattakammanpatti Village, Nilakottai Taluk, Dindigul District.
2.By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
3.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent.
4.In the affidavit it has been stated that the petitioner, who is residing at Kattakammanpatti Village, Nilakottai Taluk, and others have decided to conduct Aani Festival of the Arulmighu Sri Pidariamman, Sri Muthallamman Temple situated at Kattakammanpatti Village, Nilakottai Taluk, Dindigul District, and fixed the date of celebration from 01.07.2014 to 07.07.2014. It is further stated that they have decided to conduct traditional dance program from 02.07.2014 to 05.07.2014 and hence, he approached the respondent on 20.06.2014 to provide police protection and the respondent did not give any response to the same. Aggrieved over the same, the present writ petition has been filed.
