The Hon‟ble Apex Court yet in another judgment rendered in the case of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh Vrs. Faculty Association and Others, reported in (1998) 4 SCC 1, wherein the subject matter was as to whether in a single cadre post, reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs can be applied either directly or through the roster in which vacancies are rotated amongst general category and reserved category candidates, the Hon'ble Apex court holding therein has stated that where such a single post in the cadre is there, it cannot be reserved, otherwise it will create 100% reservation of such post whenever such reservation is to be implemented.
