Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Revenue.
The writ petition is filed aggrieved by the action of the revenue officials in locking the Hundi of a private temple which is being managed by a Society. The learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that the revenue officials have no role to play in the affairs of a private temple known as Peddintlamma Ammavari Temple and the 4" respondent locked the Hundi of the temple, despite the legal opinion of the concerned Assistant Government Pleader. Prima facie, this Court is satisfied that the revenue officials have no jurisdiction to interfere with the management of a private temple. Accordingly, there shall be a direction as prayed for.
