श्री ज्योतिरादित्य माधवराव सिंधिया :  अध्यक्ष महोदया, उसके बाद हमारी मानव संसाधन मंत्री श्रीमती स्मृति ईरानी जी ने चार महीनों में पाँच चिट्ठियाँ लिखीं कि जल्द से जल्द कार्रवाई होनी चाहिए। ...(व्यवधान) मैं इस सदन में यह पूछने के लिए विवश हूँ कि क्या बाबा साहब अम्बेडकर की राह में चलना राष्ट्रद्रोह करना है। इस प्रश्न का उत्तर हमें इस सदन में देना होगा। पूरे प्रशासनिक अमले का दुरुपयोग किया गया ताकि संघ परिवार की नीति और कार्यक्रम सफल हो पाए। असलियत यह है कि कुछ छात्रों के खिलाफ पूरा भारत सरकार का पहाड़ टूट पड़ा। क्या हमने भारत के इतिहास में कभी भी यह देखा है कि एक विश्वविद्यालय की कार्य प्रणाली के आधार पर भारत सरकार का इतना हस्तक्षेप हो।

श्री ज्योतिरादित्य माधवराव सिंधिया : वह इतने जोर से चिल्ला रहे हैं कि कहीं कोई इन्हें कठिनाई न हो जाए। मुझे इनके स्वास्थ्य की चिंता है। आठ छात्रों के कथन के आधार पर एक विश्वविद्यालय पर कलंक लगाना, इससे दुखद घटना नहीं हो सकती है। सरकार के सांसद योगी आदित्यनाथ जी ने क्या कहा, मैं उनको कोट करूंगा- It has become a habit there. “Running with grants provided from the tax paid by the people, JNU has become a blot on education. Such an institution should be closed down in the interest of the nation.” हमारे गृह मंत्री श्री राजनाथ सिंह जी ने इस घटना के बारे में क्या कहा, and, I quote: “देश को सच्चाई समझने की जरूरत है। जेएनयू की घटना को हाफ़िज़ सईद का समर्थन हासिल है।” जब यह मालूम पड़ा कि उनकी कोई ट्वीट नहीं है तो फिर पूरे देश को दिखाने के लिए चेहरा नहीं रहा। क्या देश के गृह मंत्री जी को कोई भी वक्तव्य देने के पहले जांच-पड़ताल नहीं करनी चाहिए? मैं यह भी कहना चाहूंगा कि सरकार का जेएनयू के प्रति यह व्यवहार केवल 9 फरवरी के नारों के आधार पर नहीं है। यह सरकार चाहती है कि इस संस्था की आवाज को बंद किया जाए। क्यों? क्योंकि, जेएनयू के छात्रों ने भगवा आतंकवाद का मुद्दा उठाया था, जेएनयू के छात्रों ने दादरी का मुद्दा उठाया था, जेएनयू के छात्रों ने यूजीसी भवन के सामने बजट की कटौती के आवंटन का मामला उठाया था और जेएनयू के छात्रों ने रोहित वेमुला का मुद्दा उठाया था, इसलिए उनकी आवाज को बंद करने की कोशिशें की जा रही हैं...(व्यवधान) प्रश्न यह है कि...(व्यवधान)
Is it only votes that matter? Is it only us and them? Are we not simplifying matters by breaking the country up into two parts – us and them? If you love your country, you love me. If you don’t love me, you don’t love the country. So by dividing the country in this manner, we are creating a bunch of people whose petty, political ambitions are to be assuaged, are to be satisfied at the cost, a heavy cost to the country. I would like to quote Voltaire, who said: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” The Government refused the help of the Pakistan army. They said that they have easier access to Siachen; they will reach our post quicker; and they will save our soldiers. The Government refused. And for six days, the young men of our Army were under 25 feet of snow. There was one braveheart – that is the word being used – one brave soldier with tenacity and love for his motherland, who survived. He was brought to the hospital. Then I do not know whom amongst us he saw, that he gave up his last breathe. It is sad for this nation that we are not able to recognise these brave people.
