Vide an order passed by a larger Bench of this Court on September 03, 2021, a request was made to Hon'ble Justice Manjula Chellur, retired Chief Justice of this Court to monitor the working of the SIT constituted for investigation of the cases with reference to polling in the State of West Bengal.
This Court had directed that as an interim measure the State shall pay a sum of `10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakh Only) for the assignment.
We have received a communication from Hon'ble Ms. Justice Manjula Chellur graciously stating that she will take up the assignment, however, is not inclined to receive honorarium fixed by this Court.
We accept the request. The State is not required to pay any honorarium to Hon'ble Justice Manjula Chellur, 4 WPA(P) 142 of 2021 retired Chief Justice of this Court. However, all other facilities as already directed shall be provided.
