The revised definition proposed is consistent with the common usage and also, is not tied to any particular technology. Definition of the term 'producer' is also proposed to be inserted separately vide sub-clause (xiii). Further, 'producer' has been defined by the said amendment as follows:

"producer' in relation to a cinematograph film or sound recording, means a person who takes the initiative and responsibility for making the work".
