According to the Petitioner, he is one of the Members of the festival Committee of the famous temple 'Cumbum Arulmighu sri Bagavathy Amman' situated at Cumbum East Street, Sukkangalpatty, Cumbum, Theni District. He approached the Second Respondent/Inspector of Police, Cumbum Police Station, Theni District, seeking permission on 2/11/2014 to 4/11/2014 to stage the 'Adal Padal dance programme, drama and other historical dramas and cultural programmes' on 3/11/2014. Till date, the representation is not yet disposed of by the authorities concerned.

(xiii). More importantly and pertinently, if the Programme/programmes exceeds/exceed the time limit determined by this Court between 07.00 and 10.00. p.m., on 3/11/2014 evening, then the Second Respondent/Police without any haziness/hesitation whatsoever is directed to step in immediately and stop the 'Adal Padal programme/cultural/dance/drama programme'.

15. With the aforesaid directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
