                Writ Petition No.44032 of 2018

Order: (per V.Ramasubramanian, J.)

     Aggrieved by the detention of the multi-function devices,

from the container that landed up in Bangalore Air Cargo, the

importer has come up with the above writ petition.

     2. Heard Mr. A.V.A. Siva Kartikeya, learned counsel for

the petitioner and Mr. B.Narasimha Sarma, learned Senior

Standing Counsel for the respondents 1 and 2/Department.

     3. Today, Mr. B.Narasimha Sarma, learned Senior

Standing Counsel, brought to our notice a show cause notice

dated 05-12-2018 issued to the petitioner. Thus, the

proceedings under the Customs Act, 1962, have now begun.

Therefore, they should be permitted to come to a logical end.

     4. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of

directing the petitioner to submit a reply to the show cause

notice on or before 26-12-2018. Within two weeks from the

date of receipt of a copy of this order, the 1st respondent shall

pass final orders after giving an opportunity of personal

hearing to the petitioner. Pending applications, if any, shall

stand closed. No costs.
