जो अन्याय करता है और जो अन्याय सहता है, दोनों एक समान हैं, दोनों का अपराध समान होता है। कोई सहन नहीं करना चाहता है, चाहे कोई राइटर हो, शायर हो, अपना सम्मान, पूरी जिंदगी की कमाई वापस कर रहे हैं और हम उनकी सोशल मीडिया, अखबार, प्रैस काफ्रेंस में धज्जियां उड़ा रहे हैं। हमेशा हर दौर में ऐसा हुआ है, राजा रजवाड़ों के दौर में हुआ है जब लोकतंत्र नहीं था। सब विदू­ाक नहीं होते, सब साइकोफेन्ट्स नहीं होते। आप टाइम्स स्कवेयर की आवाज सुन सकते हैं और इस समय की बात नहीं सुन सकते कि हिंदुस्तान में क्या हो रहा है, करंट अफेयर्स में क्या हो रहा है? यह सुनना जरूरी है, इसके लिए जमीन पर कान लगाने की जरूरत नहीं होती है, थोड़ी आउटगोइंग कॉल के साथ इनकमिंग कॉल भी रखनी चाहिए कि क्या कॉल आ रही है। अगर एक ही मोड में होगा तो दिक्कत हो जाएगी। मुझे ऐसा लगा कि आउटगोइंग कॉल तो है, मन की बात हो रही है, धन की बात हो रही है, तन की बात हो रही है लेकिन देश का मन क्या बोल रहा है, कहां दहल रहा है, यह बात सामने नहीं आ रही है। उसके लिए बिहार के चुनाव की जरूरत हो गई? उसके लिए चुनाव के नतीजे का इंतजार करना पड़ा? क्या हम यहां बहस करने इसलिए आए थे? यह सवाल नहीं था, सवाल था कि दाल क्यों 200 रुपए किलो हो गई? प्याज क्यों 70-80 रुपए किलो हो गया? एक व्यापारी सत्ता के गलियारे के करीब होने के कारण क्यों देश की सारी दाल गोदाम में भर लेगा और दाल की कीमत से करोड़ों रुपए का फायदा हो जाएगा? सवाल यह नहीं है कि किसके घर में क्या खाना पक रहा है, छोटे का है या बड़े का है, बकरे का है या गाय का है? सरकार की जिम्मेदारी, राजनीति की जिम्मेदारी, राजनैतिक संगठन की जिम्मेदारी, सांस्कृतिक संगठन की जिम्मेदारी यह नहीं है कि हम मछली पका रहे हैं या नहीं पका रहे हैं या कुछ नहीं पका रहे हैं? हम रोहु पका रहे हैं या हिल्सा बना रहे हैं? सवाल यह है कि इस देश में जिसका चूल्हा नहीं जल रहा है, जिसकी हांडी में खाना नहीं है, सरकार को उसकी तरफ देखना पड़ेगा, राजनीति को उसकी तरफ देखना पड़ेगा। हम मुद्दे को बदल रहे हैं। सवाल खाद्य सुरक्षा का था ताकि हर गरीब को भरपेट खाना मिले, बेरोजगार को काम मिले, महंगाई थोड़ी कम हो, मैलनरिशमेंट कम हो, कुपो­ाण के शिकार बच्चों को पौ­िटक आहार दिया जाए। इसके बजाय अख्लाक अहमद को मारना पड़ा, कुर्बानी का बकरा बनाना पड़ा, कुर्बानी के बाद उसके घर क्या खाना बना। हमें लज्जा आनी चाहिए कि उसका बेटा जो भारत की एयर फोर्स में है, मैंने मीडिया में देखा, उसके बावजूद भी लोग कहते हैं कि क्या करेंगे, कुछ कहते हैं कि इधर चले जाओ, उधर चले जाओ, वह सरफरोश कहता है कि “सारे जहां से अच्छा हिन्दुस्तां हमारा।” That’s the spirit of India. यह एक चुनाव के आंकड़े से बदलता नहीं है। यह एक सरकार के कहने से नहीं होता है। ये सदियों का है। कहां से हिम्मत मिली?  ये फ्रिन्ज एलीमेंट्स सेंटर में कैसे आ गये? गृह मंत्री जी यहां बैठे हुए हैं। मैं दूसरे मंत्री के नाम से पहले गृह मंत्री से शुरु करना चाहता हूं। संविधान का मामला भी उनके विभाग का है। जब चुनाव के बाद मोदी जी सत्ता में आए, भा­ाण में क्या कहा गया- ...  क्या यह लोक तंत्र की दुहाई है? क्या यह सैकुलेरिज्म की दुहाई है? क्या यह संविधान की दुहाई है? किसकी ओर इशारा कर रहे हैं? श्री मोहम्मद सलीम (रायगंज) :  उपाध्यक्ष महोदय, इसमें मेरी स्प­ट बात यह है कि मैं जो बयान दे रहा हूँ, उसके ऊपर यदि संसदीय कार्य राज्य मंत्री यह कहें कि जब तक इसको आप वापस नहीं लेते, तब तक सदन की कार्यवाही नहीं चलने देंगे। ...(व्यवधान) यह भी सहनशीलता का एक अभाव है, जिस मुद्दे पर हम बात कर रहे हैं। ...(व्यवधान) मैंने पहले भी कहा और अभी भी कह रहा हूँ,Sir, for your benefit, when I quoted from Frontline, why I said that? I am sorry, I quoted from Outlook.I am giving undue advantage to Frontline also. It is because they asked me from where I was quoting this. I said this is the article. I authenticated that. Now, this is ridiculous that the Minister is saying that as long as I cannot prove the truth, no further proceedings will continue. How come? I cannot. What I said was, I quoted and I put it. Now, if the Minister says, no, then it is up to the Minister and the Government of India. With their own might, let them take action. How can I? As a reader, I purchased the magazine. SHRI K.C. VENUGOPAL:  I will tell you. Please wait. Some of them have already returned their Awards. Some of them have already resigned from their distinguished posts. Some eminent personalities are expressing their views through the media. Is it a political conspiracy? Being a responsible Member of Parliament representing millions of people, I think it is the duty of us to express our concern on intolerance.

          That is what we are doing. … (Interruptions)… Why are you people becoming intolerant? I would like to quote Martin Niemoller, a famous German poet. During the Nazi regime, he wrote against the prevailing  intolerance  in the Nazi Germany. I quote: " First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out because I was not a Socialist; then they came for the trade unionist, I did not speak out because I was not a trade unionist; then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out because I was not a Jew; then, they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me.” This is a clear reminder for everybody, those who are keeping silence on intolerance, especially the Treasury Benches.
