Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee has said, ‘It is no secret that the sangh is my soul.’ He visited the RSS’s headquarters on the 27th August, 2000 to pay his obeisance to the Sarsanghchalak. I believe, I have got the title correct. While on a visit to the USA, he declared, ‘The post of Prime Minister may go tomorrow but I will always remain an humble swayamsevak.’ Sir, he has a very glorious tradition in the RSS from 1939. We read in the newspapers that at the residence of Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi in New Delhi, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Shri L.K. Advani offered a month’s salary as Guru Dakshina. There is nothing wrong in it. I am not opposing that. Therefore, their commitment to RSS is well accepted and admitted. Now, of course, their ranks have swelled by the recruitment of a very enlightened Foreign Minister who has, quite on a non- RSS sartorial outfit, joined the drill. Probably, he is now having his ambition towards shifting to Seat No. 1 in this House.
