2. This writ petition has been filed for the following relief(s):-
"For issuance of appropriate order(s) and direction(s), upon the learned Central Government Industrial Tribunal (No. -1) -cum- Labor Court No(2), at Dhanbad, to proceed with the matter in connection with ID case No. 01 of 2021, relating to an Application moved under Section 2A of the Industrial Disputes Act, by the Petitioner, now pending in the Court of CGIT (No-1), Dhanbad, and for further directions to conclude the proceeding within a time frame, for a specific reason that the matter is lying pending with the Tribunal, since 1St February 2021, whereby the matter was instituted, and thereafter, the matter has been lingering at the stage of hearing for admission, and further, no steps have been taken with effect from 5th May 2022, and simply dates are being given, even though the petitioner has moved several applications before the tribunal to proceed as per law."1
3. Learned counsel for the respondent-Union of India submits that he has received instructions from the Ministry of Labour And Employment, Government of India, that the learned Presiding Officer of Central Government, Industrial Tribunal, (No.-1), Dhanbad, is going to be appointed shortly.
4. As per instructions, Presiding Officer is to be appointed by 30th June 2024.
5. He submits that as he is not aware about the present status regarding the notification of the new Presiding Officer, some more time may be granted for making the required appointment.
6. He submits that once the learned Presiding Officer is appointed, there is no reason as to why the proceedings involved in the present case will not be taken up but the same would certainly be subject to the steps to be taken by the parties.
7. After hearing the learned counsel for the parties, this Court having recorded the aforesaid submissions of the learned counsel for the Union of India, does not choose to proceed any further in the present case. Suffice is to observe that as per his instruction, the learned Presiding Officer is to be appointed by 30th June 2024 but the needful be done by the respondent no. 5 latest by 31st July 2024.
8. It is further observed that upon assuming the charge, the learned Presiding Officer shall proceed with the matter involved in this case and decide the case as expeditiously as possible.
9. With the aforesaid observations, this writ petition is disposed of.
