Several provisions to which we have referred indeed make it clear beyond doubt that a bigamous marriage amongst Hindus, Parsis, Christians and Anglo Indians is void. The argument which Mrs. Mehta has raised is that since a bigamous marriage in all these communities is void in law, Rule 26 is directed only against Muslim Government servants who may under their personal law contract a bigamous marriage We are unable to uphold the contention raised by Mrs. Mehta in this behalf.
