6. There is no dispute that NET is
compulsory in terms of the stipulations by both ICAR
eligibility test (NET) for Lecturers conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
Note.--NET shall remain the compulsory requirement ... NET examination.
It is thus clear from the reading of the provisions as extracted herein above that NET is a compulsory requirement for appointments
