In 2002, the above noted note was substituted with the
following:-
"NET shall remain compulsory requirement for
appointment ... have to
pass the NET examination."
Again in 2006, the note was substituted as under:-
"NET shall remain compulsory requirement for
appointment
regulations issued by the UGC
from time to time regarding compulsory NET/SLET qualifications for
appointment to lecturers/Asst. Professors. The above mentioned
resolution perhaps ... issued under
Section 20(1) of the UGC, 1956 in making NET/SLET compulsory for
teaching positions as a policy relating to national purposes
concerned subject:

Note: "NET shall remain the compulsory

graduate ... relevant subject.
It is evident that post graduate degree with NET is
compulsory for the appointment of Lecturer.
However, a candidate who is having
NET/ SLET qualification was not necessary & M. Phil. was also
a recognised qualification. The Division bench found that
NET /SLET became compulsory ... passed M. Phil
in April,2009. Both claim that as NET became compulsory
prospectively from 11/7/2009, as they had M. Phil prior

10. In the present case, admittedly, the petitioner had
completed
eligibility test (NET) for Lecturers conducted by the UGC,CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC.
Note : NET shall remain the compulsory requirement ... concerned subject upto 31st December,1993, are exempted from appearing in the NET examination."
18. In view of the above guidelines
towards damage to the building. After compulsory deduction, the net loss was
calculated at Rs.3,64,222/-, which goes to show that the Insurance
