"NET shall remain the compulsory requirement for appointment as Lecturer even for candidates having ... said so and stressing upon the fact that passing of NET would be compulsory, Court said:

16. As noted above, the abovementioned
regulations were amended
provides a social security safety net to the
country and economy by making available compulsory social
insurance cover to all users of South African roads
Fisheries Science and have qualified the National Eligibility Test
(NET) conducted by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board.
Their case is that the qualifications ... certain conditions mentioned
therein, and for other candidates the NET qualification is compulsory to
be eligible for the post of Assistant Professor.
3. The grievance
Degree with minimum 55%
marks .
(iii) Clearance of NET and SLET are not
compulsory for eligibility to the post of Assistant
Professor ... candidates
who were recommended for recruitment, only 2 candidates
had cleared NET/SLET.
[18] Finally, the respondents have questioned the
maintainability of the writ petition
