1894 ; seeking lapsing of acquisition proceedings, in terms of Section 24(2)
of the Right ... land acquisition

(a) where no award under section 11 of the said Land
Acquisition Act has been
only conveys the
opinion of the Land Acquisition Officer that the acquisition proceedings had
lapsed under Section ... acquisition proceedings. Reference to

61. After the passage of the order
only conveys the
opinion of the Land Acquisition Officer that the acquisition proceedings had

Acquisition Officer that the acquisition proceedings have lapsed
then in terms of
Section 11A of the Act, the acquisition proceedings had lapsed
as the award ought to have been pronounced on or before ... period. Similarly, Section 11A of the Act
provides that the acquisition proceedings shall lapse where the
Collector fails to make an award within a period
acquisition
proceedings. But in the present case, the challenge is not to the
acquisition proceeding; it is only for a declaration that the acquisition
proceedings ... acquisition proceedings and yet another thing
to say that by virtue of operation of a subsequent legislation, the
acquisition proceedings have lapsed
entire
proceedings for the acquisition of the land lapsed.
6. The appellants treated the lapse of the acquisition
proceedings as withdrawal from the acquisition ... final notification under
Section 6 ) and the acquisition of land lapsed, would
such lapse of acquisition proceedings amount to
withdrawal from the acquisition

proceedings shall be deemed to have lapsed. On the lapse of
such acquisition proceedings, if the appropriate government

challenged inter-alia on the ground that the
acquisition proceedings stood lapsed in view of the Central Act No.
68 of 1984 fixing time limit ... Land Acquisition Act,
1894 ', the petitioner cannot now turn around and say that
the acquisition proceedings was pending and has lapsed
acquisition
proceedings owing to the mandate of Section 11A of the 1894 Act.
It was not even remotely suggested that the acquisition
proceedings had lapsed ... stay to the
proceedings by the Aurangabad Bench, the State
Government decided not to proceed with the land
acquisition proceedings. We are afraid that Writ
