Government Orders directing that the trained apprentices should be given
preference at the time of recruitment and other things which are equal ... senior to the persons trained later. I between the trained apprentices
preference shall be given to those who are seniors;

7. It is argued
Apprentices to go through the process of viva-voce. This Court has specifically laid down that a trained apprentice should be given preference other things ... trained apprentices will also be considered along with them and if everything is found equal then the trade apprentices will be preferred. That does

"(1) Other things, a trained apprentice should be given preference over direct recruits.

7. We feel that
categories of apprentices.
(i) Trade apprentices-either fresh candidate or M
qualified candidates;
(ii) Technician apprentices (Diploma Holders); and
(iii) Graduate Engineer apprentices ... apprentices which are as under:
(i) Trade apprentices-either fresh candidates or ITI
qualified candidates
(ii) Technician apprentices (Diploma Holders); and
(iii) Graduate Engineer apprentices
expressed the desire that "other things being equal
trained apprentices should be given preference in case of
employment.".
10. For a promise ... senior to the persons trained later. ln
between the trained apprentices, preference shall be given to
those who are senior.
19. Similarly this Tribunal while
training, be bound to offer suitable
employment to the Apprentices and the Apprentices shall be bound to
serve the employer in that capacity for such ... Board has rightly formulated its own policy for recruitment of
Apprentices by giving preference to CCAAs to the extent of 20 per
cent
