As regards the interest on compensation, the Hon'ble Supreme Court has held that the interest for compensation amount would accrue 30 days after the date of the accident and not from the date of quantification/orders passed by the Deputy Commissioner of Labour. The decision of the Supreme Court has been followed by the Division Bench of this Court in the judgment reported in 2010 (2) TNMAC 80 (DB) cited above and the observation made in paragraph 27 of the said judgment reads as follows:
