Referring to the decision in the case of Anirudhsinhji Karansinhji Jadeja Vs.
State of Gujarat, as reported in (1995) 5 SCC 302, it was submitted on behalf of the
petitioners that in absence of independent and unfettered judgment of the competent
authority, the decision whereby the selection process was cancelled, cannot pass the test of
legal scrutiny.
