2. Learned counsel for the petitioner has vehemently contended that the said witness (Investigating Officer) is a crucial and necessary witness for the just adjudication of the case. It is submitted that the Investigating Officer had also conducted the investigation in the cross-case arising out of the FIR in question, titled as 'State versus Ramen Kumar', and his cross-examination in the present case was not conducted properly.
