The claimants would also be entitled to the payment of interest at 9% p.a. on the excess amount of compensation awarded by the court from 27.1.1975, whose possession of lands were taken upto the date of payment of such excess amount, into court as decided in Assistant Collector, Tiruvallur v. C.Ramamoorthy (Appeal No.34/1985). Subject to this, the appeal is dismissed. "
