16. A decision of the Gauhati High Court in Milan Debnath vs.
State of Tripura reported in (2010)4 GLR 1 has been pressed to
service but this court finds that a species of circumstantial evidence viz.
the last seen together has been elaborately discussed in the said report.
It has been held that the circumstantial evidence relating to „last seen
together‟ must be of such nature that the entire chain of events is
established and there is no room for any amount of suspicion. The
suspicion may howsoever be grave cannot lead to conviction unless the
offence alleged against the accused is found to be established beyond all
reasonable doubt.
