In Mohd. Shafi Pandit v. Mohd. Yousuf Magrey (supra), relying on J. S. Parihar's case (supra), a Division Bench of this Court held that fresh directions cannot be given in contempt proceedings, and in such a case, the appeal may be entertained as a letters patent appeal because such an order would be deemed to have been passed in writ proceedings.
