On the contrary, the learned senior counsel for the respondent relied on a decision reported in 1998 CRI.L.J 1476( Manjula vs Mani, wherein the single judge of this court has held that the Hindu Marriage Register and the certified extract therefrom is a public document within the meaning of Sec.74 of the Evidence Act.
