In Vidya Sagar- Joshi v. Surinder Nath Gautam(1) the words "expenditure, in connection with election" used in s. 77 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951 were construed to mean "having to do, with". An arbitration clause wherein the words "in relation to or in connection with the contract" were construed not to contemplate a dispute raised by a contractor that he could avoid the- contract on the ground that it was obtained by a fradulent misrepresentation.
