In Debendra Narain Sarkar v. Satya Charan Mukerji [AIR 1927 Cal 783 : 54 Cal 614] it was held that a suit by a person claiming to be entitled to a religious office against an usurper, for a declaration of his right to the office is a suit of a civil nature.
