Court in the case of Dana Yadav @ Dahu & Ors. Vs. State of
Bihar reported in AIR 2002 SC 3325, the Hon'ble Apex Court has
elaborated upon the importance of test identification parade in a
great detail. The Hon'ble Court observed that in case of failure to
hold Test Identification Parade, identification of the accused before
court, though is not inadmissible but it should not, ordinarily, form
the basis of conviction unless corroborated by previous
identification in test identification parade or any other evidence.
