R.C.R. (Criminal) 247, the Hon'ble Apex Court has held that it cannot be
laid down as a rule of universal application that whenever there is delay in
lodging the FIR, the prosecution has to fail. Consequently, the delay in
lodging the FIR in view of the circumstances mentioned above cannot be a
ground to discard the prosecution case.
