10. In its report, the Joint Committee has highlighted that temporary
arrangements have been made for providing drinking water to the residents
of the locality through pipeline from nearest private borewell at
approximate distance of 1200 meters from the village and two tanks of 500
liters each have been provided by the PHE Department. We appreciate the
sincere efforts made by the Members of the Joint Committee in highlighting
the issue of providing drinking water to the residents of the village/
surrounding locality. "Clean water and sanitation" is one of the
sustainable Development goals (SDGs) of the UN adopted by world's leaders

in September, 2015 at UN Summit on Sustainable Development. We are of
the view that the District Administration has to take requisite steps for
making clean drinking water available to the residents of the
village/surrounding locality on a sustainable basis and accordingly,
Collector, Shivpuri is directed to take requisite remedial action and file his
report in this regard within three months at [email protected] preferably
in the form of searchable PDF/OCR Supported PDF and not in the form of
Image PDF.
