In this regard, we deem it appropriate to refer to the Constitution Bench decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Dharam Singh (supra), wherein it was categorically held that once RAVI 2025.09.24 KANOJIA 17:05:07+05'30' Item No.14/C-2 32 OA No.962/2020 the maximum period of probation is prescribed, it is absolute and cannot be circumvented either by implication or administrative device. The principle has been consistently followed.
