In the above decision, it was held by their Lordships that the
order of detention being a mere formal recital of the provisions of the
section under the relevant statute, it cannot be said that the detenu was
in any way handicapped in submitting his representation. It was noticed
by their Lordships that if the grounds of detention had been furnished to
the detenu in the language known to him, failure of the detaining
authority to translate the order of detention in vernacular will not vitiate
the order.
