The Chief Justice has full power, authority and jurisdiction in the matter of allocation of business of the High Court which flows not only from the provisions contained in sub-section (3) of Section 51 of the States Re- organisation Act, 1956, but inheres in him in the very nature of things.

Relying upon the decision in Charanjit Lal Chowdhury v. Union of India14 and B.R. Ramabhadriah v. Food and Agriculture Deptt. 15, it was contended on behalf of the respondent-writ petitioner that the Court can enforce public statutory duty and in appropriate cases it can mould the relief to suit the purpose or exigencies of a particular case. It seems to be the settled position of law that the Court can undoubtedly take note of the changed circumstances and suitably mould the relief in order to meet the demand of justice.
