At this stage it would be proper to invite attention of all concerned to the observations of the Supreme Court in the case of Supreme Court Legal Aid Committee (Representing Undertrial Prisoners) v. Union of India . Although, these observations are made in the context of rights of undertrials who are facing prosecution for offences punishable under NDPS Act, they are very much relevant for our purpose.
