Rameshwar Dayal vs The State Of Punjab And Others on 5 December, 1960

In support of this proposition, the petitioner relied on a decision of the Supreme Court (Rameshwar Dayal v. State of Punjab, AIR 1961 SC 816) holding that the appointment as District Judge of a person whose name was on the roll of Advocates of the East Punjab High Court on the date of his appointment and who had a period of 7 years' practice at the Bar including his period of service in or under the Lahore High Court before partition, was not open to objection under Article 233 of the Constitution.
