25. In the instant case, en masse action has
been taken by the respondents against several
leaseholders. The ratio raid down in M/s. Five Star
Sand Dredging Co., in our opinion, therefore, would
not apply. It is too late to contend now that in
contractual matters, this Court has no jurisdiction
to exercise powers under Article 226 of the
Constitution of India. On the contrary, in several
cases, the powers have been exercised by High
Courts as well as by the Supreme Court. Reliance
in this connection was rightly placed by the
learned counsel for the petitioners on Shrilekha
Vidyarthi v. State of U.P., ;
